FIXED ASSET ACCOUNTANT

**This position is permanent placement, 5 days on-site in the North Fort Worth / Keller area.

Day-to-Day:

One of the fastest-growing convenience store operators in the US is seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to join their corporate team in Fort Worth, TX. Reporting to the Retail Controller, this member of the team will be responsible for the timely and accurate tracking and analysis of acquisition, construction, and repairs and maintenance expenditures. The position requires a high-energy, deadline-driven, results-oriented person with great attention to detail and a strong work ethic. This position must be able to work independently and be able to build rapport and cultivate solid relationships with team members at all levels of the company.

 

Position Responsibilities:

*Monitoring the processing of acquisition, construction, and repairs and maintenance invoices to ensure timely and accurate entry and coding

*Tracking actual project costs to budget, investigating variances, and resolving issues

*Preparing project variance reports for management

*Reconciling expenditure listings from the job costing software to the accounting system's subsidiary ledgers and general ledger

*Working closely with fixed asset accountant to research and identify individual assets by classification (e.g., Leasehold Improvements, Equipment, Fixtures, etc.)

*Reviewing key expense accounts, including repairs and maintenance, equipment, office supplies, and environmental for expenditures that should be capitalized

*Working cross-functionally to create and distribute exception-based reports identifying sites that incur repairs and maintenance expenditures above or below expectation

*Supporting the preparation of tax and audit work papers

*Maintaining accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions

 

Desired Skills and Experience 

- 1 to 3 years' Fixed Asset Accountant experience

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP's, pivot tables)

- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

- Must be able to go on-site 5 days a week in Fort Worth, TX

Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager

One of the fastest-growing convenience store operators in the US is seeking an Technical Accounting Manager to join their team. Reporting to the SVP of Finance, this member of the team will proactively manage and document key accounting disclosures and in-depth research.

 

Responsibilities:

- Manage the quarterly preparation of financial statement footnotes and supporting documentation, working closely with Controllers, VP of Finance, and CFO

- Participate in the coordination and preparation of quarterly reports (10-Q), annual reports (10- K) and current reports (8-K) if applicable

- Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of complex accounting matters which may include, but is not limited to, the following:

- New equity instruments

- Lease accounting process, in accordance with accounting standard 842

- Business combinations, in accordance with accounting standard 805

- Capitalization of interest is appropriate, in accordance with accounting

standard 835

- Asset retirement obligations

- Sale-leaseback analysis

Desired Skills and Experience 

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Required

5-10 years of progressive accounting experience

3+ years of SEC reporting experience

Combination of private industry and public accounting experience

Advanced Technical Accounting knowledge

Prior experience designing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures in a SOX environment

Sr. Technical Accountant

One of the fastest-growing convenience store operators in the U.S. is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join our team. The Senior Technical Accountant position requires a high--energy, results-oriented person with great attention to detail and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of GAAP and have a proven track-record of working independently. This position reports to the Corporate Controller and will work closely with senior management and other departments including Accounting, Legal, Construction and Operations.

Desired Skills and Experience 

- 3-5 years of experience in Public Accounting (preferably in Audit)

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) OR eligible to receive within next 12 months

- Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance or Business related degree

- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (V-look ups, pivot tables)

- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

- Must be able to go on-site 5 days a week in Fort Worth, TX

Plusses

-Experience with Accounting Standards 842 (Lease), 805 (Business Combination), or 835 (Capitalization of Interest)

-Consumer, Retail, or Convenience Store industry experience
