Information

Conflict is Inevitable, Combat is Optional

When organizations make it a priority to train employees on communication/listening skills, building trust, team building, and conflict resolution skills, less unresolved conflicts will occur. When employees feel their concerns are heard by management, job satisfaction and productivity increases which goes right to the bottom line.

Acquisition Integration: Factors to Consider Beyond Corporate Development by Sammy Haddad (Director Financial Management at Grant Thornton LLP)

The topics to be covered include:
  • A brief summary of the acquisition life cycle (a summary of the process from target identification to valuation)
  • Post Acquisition: identifying the Synergies and Redundancies
    • Assessing which organization has the best in class processes, IT organization, etc. (the acquiring company may not be the best in class; may have just had the cash)
  • Road Map to developing the synergies within the Finance Organization specifically (do we centralize finance and accounting functions, IT, etc. or do we leave them disparate)
  • Solutions that could lead to better integration post acquisition (develop a shared service model, centralize functions and eliminate redundancies where possible, rationalize processes and technologies)
    • Where should companies begin to initiate this process
