Chapter Awards

Flanigan Award

(Established June 1992)

The Member of the Year Competition encourages keener participation in chapter activities by all members. Members of the Dallas Fort Worth Area Chapter, except officers and directors, are eligible to be nominated. The award will be presented each May to a member whose activity in the Dallas Forth Worth Area Chapter is judged to have been most outstanding during the year.

Directors and Officers will nominate and vote on members for the contest at the April meeting of the Board of Directors. Consideration will be given to the following areas for the nomination:

a) Attendance at chapter, regional and national meetings
b) Sponsorship of new members
c) Written material submitted to the Chapter
d) Speeches delivered for the IMA
e) Active participation as an associate director
f) Contribution to chapter spirit and attitude

The Clarence Dunning “Bite The Bullet” Leadership Award

Established by Clarence Dunning, it is a silver bullet, suspended on a chain that can be worn around the neck.

Symbol Of: The officer or director, excluding the President, who takes the responsibility of his or her job with strong individual interpretation, courageous use of innovative techniques, and unusual leadership qualities, and successfully accomplishes said responsibility.

The Cecil M. Baugh Fur-Lined Pot Award

Established by the late Cecil M. Baugh, it is a fur-lined pot that is passed on from the previous holder each year, along with a plaque that the award recipient keeps as a symbol of the award.

Membership Attendance Recognition

Regular attendance is important to the continued growth and success of the Dallas Fort Worth Area Chapter. The ONE HUNDRED PERCENT designation is the official and public means of recognizing this achievement by its members.

The names of those members who have maintained perfect attendance during the preceding calendar year or longer are listed below.

Eligibility:
Membership in the Institute of Management Accountants at the beginning of the chapter year; and (2) attendance at nine regular meetings beginning in August. (Missed meetings may be recovered by evidence of attendance at a professional development seminar, a regular meeting of another chapter, a Texas Council meeting, completion of an IMA self study course or attendance at the IMA Annual Conference.)
