FIXED ASSET ACCOUNTANT

**This position is permanent placement, 5 days on-site in the North Fort Worth / Keller area.

Day-to-Day:

One of the fastest-growing convenience store operators in the US is seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to join their corporate team in Fort Worth, TX. Reporting to the Retail Controller, this member of the team will be responsible for the timely and accurate tracking and analysis of acquisition, construction, and repairs and maintenance expenditures. The position requires a high-energy, deadline-driven, results-oriented person with great attention to detail and a strong work ethic. This position must be able to work independently and be able to build rapport and cultivate solid relationships with team members at all levels of the company.

 

Position Responsibilities:

*Monitoring the processing of acquisition, construction, and repairs and maintenance invoices to ensure timely and accurate entry and coding

*Tracking actual project costs to budget, investigating variances, and resolving issues

*Preparing project variance reports for management

*Reconciling expenditure listings from the job costing software to the accounting system's subsidiary ledgers and general ledger

*Working closely with fixed asset accountant to research and identify individual assets by classification (e.g., Leasehold Improvements, Equipment, Fixtures, etc.)

*Reviewing key expense accounts, including repairs and maintenance, equipment, office supplies, and environmental for expenditures that should be capitalized

*Working cross-functionally to create and distribute exception-based reports identifying sites that incur repairs and maintenance expenditures above or below expectation

*Supporting the preparation of tax and audit work papers

*Maintaining accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions

 

Desired Skills and Experience 

- 1 to 3 years' Fixed Asset Accountant experience

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP's, pivot tables)

- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

- Must be able to go on-site 5 days a week in Fort Worth, TX

As an Operations Finance Specialist onsite at our Landing Systems Financial team based in Haltom City, TX; you will assist in leading operations monthly, annual and LRP budgeting process for Operational and General & Administrative (G&A) expenses and develop annual operating expense plans and monthly forecasts for the Haltom City/Fort Worth site.

What YOU Will Do:

  • Closing, forecast and long-range plan (LRP) reporting and analysis. Prepare materials for inclusion in closing and forecast packages and LRP presentations on key operational metrics, assumptions, and variances

  • Present monthly financial results to the Operations leadership

  • Create monthly journal entries for LG military P&L and BS

  • Assist in loading monthly forecast into central finance database

  • Periodically create charge numbers for the G&A organization

  • Assist in managing daily operations dashboard for productivity, efficiency, utilization, hours and other operational metrics

  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support the site VSL and operations leaders as needed

  • Travel once a quarter to Haltom City/Fort Worth facility for department meetings

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

You Have:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance, or related field.

·       Three years of relevant professional experience.

·       Requires comprehensive understanding and functional working knowledge of end-to-end financial processes.
